Five easy tips to help you find accommodations in Tofino

Unfortunately, accommodations in Tofino are hard to come by in the summer months and during the holidays. Read the Five Easy Tofino Accommodation Tips below for more information. This is why we always suggest that you book your Tofino Accommodations early, especially if you are planning on visiting us in the peak seasons.

Tip #1: Book your hotel or vacation rental early.

Have you heard this before? We can't say this enough. The summer months in Tofino are usually booked solid by May, so book your accommodation early.

Tip #2: Be flexible in your choice of accommodation.

There are a ton of different ways to stay in Tofino. Options for vacation rentals, bed and breakfasts, resorts, motels, hotels, hostels and campgrounds are prolific in our little town. Don't be stuck in a narrow definition of any of these.

Can't find your perfect vacation rental? Look into some of the B & B's. Bed and Breakfasts often keep their guest's quarters very private, and sometimes they even have a separate entrance.

Tip #3: Ask about pets.

Pet friendly accommodation in Tofino may be hard to come by. Of course camping is the best way to go if you are brining pets, so perhaps looking into renting an RV might by a creative option.

Many vacation rentals and B & B's allow pets, and most of the hotels / motels allow one pet (ask about size restrictions). Hostels rarely allow pets, and different resorts vary on there rules.

Tip #4: Ask for help.

The Tofino Longbeach Chamber of Commerce is a fantastic resource for visitors how haven't found that perfect place to stay. The Chamber offers to email accommodation inquiries out to their members in the lodging sector. The helpful staff is also a welcome friendly voice on the phone after you've spent a few hours hearing "Sorry, we're fully booked" on the phone.

Tip #5: Creative web searches

Just going a quick search for Tofino won't get you very far in your Web search. There are lots of creative searches that you can do to mine the depths of the Web.

For one, think about trying phrases with more than three or four words when you search in order to get very specific about what you are looking for.

Secondly, don't just limit yourself to one search engine. So many people rely on the power of Google (which is by all means a great search engine), but forget that Yahoo! or MSN may turn up a great find. Take a moment to try the same search somewhere else - you may be pleasantly surprised.
